How to bid for an upgrade on Air Transat

Air Transat runs a Bid Upgrade program: you offer an amount within a set range to move to a higher cabin, and you're only charged if your bid is accepted. Here's exactly how it works and how to place a bid.

  1. Open Air Transat's official upgrade page (https://upgrade.plusgrade.com/offer/AirTransat?lang=en).
  2. Enter your booking reference (PNR) and last name.
  3. If your fare and flight are eligible, you'll see the available upgrade(s) and a bid range.
  4. Choose your bid amount within that range — higher bids have a better chance of winning.
  5. Submit your bid. You'll be notified by email, usually 24–72 hours before departure.
  6. If you win, your card is charged and the upgrade is confirmed; if not, there's no charge.

When you're charged

You're only charged if your bid wins. If it loses, there's no charge and you travel in your original cabin. Winning bids are typically decided 24–72 hours before departure, and you're notified by email.

Changing or cancelling your bid

You can usually modify your bid amount, or withdraw it entirely, any time before the decision cutoff — through the same Manage My Booking flow you used to place it.
